Tuba Christmas Call for Musicians

Calling tuba and euphonium players of all ages to participate in a festive Tuba Christmas holiday concert on Sunday, December 13, 2026 at Historic Turner Hall, 115 S. Bench St, Galena IL.
The ensemble will be conducted by Dr. Daniel Rowland, Associate Professor of Low Brass & Music Education at University of Wisconsin - Platteville, and Principal Tuba of the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra. Rehearsal and performance will take place on the same day, with registration beginning at 10:30am, rehearsal at 11am and performance at 2pm. Pre-registration is not required, but will assist in planning. Pre-registered participants will receive a souvenir event button.
Musicians are encouraged to dress festively and decorate their instrument; there will be prizes for best decorated instrument, oldest and youngest player, and individual who traveled the farthest.
$15 registration fee (cash or check) is due at rehearsal on December 13. Musicians will also need to bring own music stand and copy of the “Carols for a Merry Tuba Christmas” music.
