Songwriters Showcase: Sarah Morris and Haley E Rydell

Theater
The Songwriters Showcase series celebrates the creation and performance of original music while giving audiences an opportunity to hear the stories and inspirations behind the songs.

Sarah Morris is a Minneapolis-based Americana singer-songwriter whose crystalline voice and benevolent storytelling have earned her recognition as one of the Midwest’s most compelling musical voices. Star Tribune’s Chris Riemenschneider praised her “Norah Jones-like approach to Americana, smoothing over its rough edges with a butter-velvety voice and an intimate songwriting style.”

Although best known for her top-notch fiddle playing and her Christine McVie-s harmonies, Minneapolis-based Haley E. Rydell has been quietly making a name for herself as a first-rate songwriter. Now, with the release of her solo album Midwestern Daughter, she shows why her work has been called “Absolutely gorgeous, like Patty Griffin sitting in with The Weepies”

The event is free and open to the public. Donations are appreciated and help support the Center's ongoing efforts to showcase regional talent and original music.
