Sally Bischel

1942 – 2017
Sally spent most of her youth in the Philadelphia suburbs, graduating from Haverford High School in 1960. After earning a degree in Illustration from the Philadelphia College of Art (now University of the Arts), she went on to work at several leading advertising firms on Chicago’s famed Magnificent Mile, leading campaigns for products such as Mr. Clean and Biz. One of the first women to be named Art Director at a major firm, she ultimately ran her own graphics design firm. In 1992, Sally and her husband, Dwight, moved to Galena, IL, where she renewed her passion for art, devoting herself to her paintings of the local area.
