Paul Chase
Paul Chase and his wife Mary live in Galena, IL where Paul has his studio. He received a Bachelors degree in Art and a Masters in Communications both from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. Paul attended the University of Montana in Missoula, received a degree in Education and taught art in Missoula High School and then Graphics at the JoDaviess Vocational Center in Elizabeth for years. Paul is a distant relative of the “other” famous American artist from Sun Prairie, WI, Georgia O’Keeffe. His large close up guitar images were influenced by her large close up flower series.

Paul presented 15 original paintings and sculptures inspired by O’Keeffe in a solo exhibit in Sun Prairie 2023.
The “PortraitVisions” gallery presents large format canvas portraits. Paul uses a variety of creative techniques, materials and art mediums for the collection. Each portrait is personal. Each portrait gives a "glimpse" of who the person is.
Graphic Guitars Gallery” are Paul’s innovative fine art guitar paintings and sculptures. “Graphicguitars” images can be found on book covers, cd covers, and posters. and in have appeared in The Country Music Hall of Fame, the Musicians Hall of Fame in Nashville, Mix Dream Recording Studio, Nashville, The Millennium Maxwell House Hotel and the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville; Wild About Music Galleries in Austin Texas, The Texas Musicians Museum, and The Iowa Rock N’ Roll Music Association Museum.
"Stone Horses" collection evolved from Paul’s Montana roots, interest in horses and the challenge of carving horse heads that represent their beauty and charm...in stone! The “Stone Horses” and Paul have been featured in Equestrian Living Magazine and Sidelines Magazine. The sculptures are available in a high end western/art store, two locations: Leipers Fork TN, and Bozeman Montana.
His whimsical landscapes know as “GraphicVisions” are creative images of towns all around the country including Galena, Dubuque, Santa Fe and Taos NM, Aspen CO, Sonoma CA, Princeton NJ, Tubac and Tombstone AZ and many Chicago suburbs. Paul describes this creation as, “A combination of reality and fantasy that demands our thoughts, yet offers a vision of a place we have seen—and where we can rest.”
“Music Visions” are Paul’s most recent collection. Stone carvings of music symbols: Treble Clef, notes, rests and combinations. Finally the question asked by musicians for centuries is answered… “What does the back of a note or treble clef look like?” The pieces are carved from various stones collected from all over the USA. Each sculpture is a symphony that depicts music, art, textures, tones, colors in stone.
