Naser Shahrivar

Naser was born in Tehran, Iran. As a child he had a passion for art, writing and storytelling and dreamed of becoming an artist. His parents did not support his desire, thus forcing him to paint and write in secrecy. As a young adolescent he used raw materials and dyes to mix his paint. He loved following his uncle into tea houses to sit and listen to the stories. As a youth Naser won first place with his painting in the local Tehran competition and later advanced to the country competition. His high school play was featured on local television.
As a young man Naser came to the United States where he studied architecture and engineering and earned a bachelor’s degree in graphic design and fine arts. He began freelance artwork and teaching Art Classes part-time. Naser has had his feet in the Art Scene for over 40 years before trying his hand at writing.
Naser has received many awards for his artwork his most recent was in New York Nil Gallery 5th Annual International Online Exhibit/ Art Competition with his painting “Frappent” received Best Visual Artist Award. 2021 His painting titled “Conversion” received BEST PAINTING Award from New York Nil International Online Exhibit/Art Competition. Naser’s oil painting titled “Morning Calm” was selected as a finalist in the International Artist Magazine Competition and was featured in the February/March issue of that magazine.
For the last few years of his life, he has dedicated more of his time to art and included writing. His first Novel “The Persian Lover” was published in 2017 and offered as an e-book on Amazon Kindle publishing receiving rave reviews and all 5 of 5 star ratings. He has been working diligently at the transformation into a screenplay and has high hopes of seeing his story on the big screen. As a rookie in this field out of desperation he completed the screenplay and entered many screenplay competitions.
Naser strives for excellence in his work and experiments with different styles and techniques as he is fearless of challenges.
