Art is your expression of what is beautiful. Crafting is an art that requires learning a skill. Combining my love of painting and the desire for depicting nature at its best inspired my watercolor paintings. Each of my wildlife paintings continually inspires me to seek out new subjects, while challenging me to depict their true shape, color and unique personality. Through my craft projects I hope to encourage relearning or introducing an old craft while reusing and recycling items you may already have around the house for material substitutes to complete a project.
I began drawing at an early age; my favorite subject was animals. My grandmother owned a store on Main Street Galena, IL The Bee Hive and graciously provided me all the supplies I needed, while encouraging me to continually improve.
I was born in Chicago, IL and moved to Galena in 1962 and later moved to East Dubuque, IL in 1968. In 1972 we moved UP North to Grand Rapids, MN filed with forests and wildlife. As an adult my life was filled with work, family and outdoor activities and my painting was put aside. Years later I picked up painting again; painting on any pallet I could find: wood blocks, metal, paper, ceramics, glass and furniture. I seemed to hunger to create a style, so I enrolled in every adult class found in the area trying to refine or define my art. After attempting my styles I found my muse through watching and depicting nature at its best, hence I found a love for wildlife painting.
I am retired and currently living in Asbury Iowa.
