Carol M. D. C. G. Hagemeier

After relocating from Iowa to Galena, Illinois, in 2025, Carol M. D. C. G. Hagmeier brought her lifelong passion for art to a new community. A self-taught artist who first discovered her creative gifts in middle school, she specializes in intricate pencil drawings and wood burning. Carol’s identity is deeply intertwined with her Cherokee Nation roots. When promoting her artwork, she always uses her full initials—a meaningful tribute to the ancestors whose names she carries and a proud reflection of her Native American heritage.
