Songwriters Showcase

The April Songwriters Showcase shares the original music of singer songwriters Don Greenwood, Scott Stieber with Don Myers and Thomas Burns.

Songwriter Showcase encourages the creation and sharing of original music by regional singer songwriters.

Don Greenwood, from Spring Green, Wisconsin, has been writing songs for 50 years. He writes originals in the rural blues and folk traditions with occasional forays into the rock, funk and Gospel genres. He cites Bob Dylan, Mississippi John Hurt, Joni Mitchell, John Prine, Hank Williams, Sylvester Stone and Laura Nyro as influences. A veteran of the Great Folk Scare of the 1960s and the Chicago Folk Scene, he used to play set breaks for John Prine on Sunday evenings at the Fifth Peg when his friend John was still working as a mail carrier.

Scott Stieber is an accomplished singer-songwriter who’s been performing throughout Wisconsin for many years. Don Myers is a two-time inductee into the Iowa Rock and Roll Music Association Hall of Fame. They’ve been playing together since 2011 through innumerable live shows and three CDs. They blend Americana, rock, blues, folk and British Invasion fun.

Thomas Burns has been playing throughout the upper midwest for over 20 years. His distinctive guitar style, hearkens back to a rootsy, wholly American style, His original songs have won awards; have received local and national airplay; and have been featured on a number of studio CD releases.
